Investigators believe the brothers lured Janell Lopez, 38, and Xavier Alvarez, 24, to Nickolas Lopez’s home on Jan. 6 with the intent to ambush and kill the two. Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said the shooting may have stemmed from a feud involving a love triangle, but he said investigators don’t know what roles the suspects and victims played in that.
Deputies found several dozen 9 mm and.223-caliber shell casings around the Pacifica, including on the driveway and the home’s front yard, creating a “trail-like” pattern leading from the vehicle to the home’s front door.
