Seattle police are asking the public’s help to identify a man who robbed a grocery store using a large kitchen knife on Tuesday morning.
Around 5:20 a.m. on Tuesday, a man entered a grocery store in the 1400 block of East John Street and began to place items into a backpack and a large tote bag.An employee was able to wrestle away the knife from the man, but the man walked to a different aisle and grabbed a second knife.
Witnesses said the man held the knife above his head and walked toward the employees, who ran to get away from him.The man was described as a Black male in his 20s, about 5 foot, 5 inches tall, with a thin build, clean-shaven and has short hair. He was also wearing dark clothing, gray shoes with black soles and carrying a black backpack and a shopping tote.
