The streak is over! The Seahawks have finally beaten the 49ers!
At last! At last! The Seattle Seahawks have beaten the San Francisco 49ers with Geno Smith at quarterback. Smith’s 13-yard touchdown run with just :12 left capped off an exhilarating 80-yard drive to give the Seahawks a thrilling 20-17 road win over their fierce NFC West rivals. An eventful bye week ends with an outstanding victory to keep their playoff hopes alive. It was a largely strong performance by Seattle’s defense, while the offense came alive late after another sputtering start.

Alas, the Seahawks lost 10 yards after Geno Smith was sacked by Yetur Gross-Matos. It’s still a drive ending in points, with Jason Myers drilling one from 57 yards out. Seattle’s defense could’ve gotten off the field early if not for Brock Purdy pump-faking Ty Okada out of the joint.
The Seahawks opted for a touchback on the kickoff with :12 to go. A short throw to Deebo Samuel gains only 4 as he tried to lateral it. 49ers out of timeouts with :07 left. More pitchy-pitchy woo-woo and it blows up. It’s OVER.
