San Diego State's basketball team is honored at Petco Park, wearing specialized Padres jerseys with their name and Aztecs number on the back
San Diego State basketball coach Brian Dutcher and guard Lamont Butler took different approaches to throwing out the ceremonial first pitches at Petco Park before Thursday night’s game between the Padres and Milwaukee Brewers.“They asked me to warm up,” Dutcher said, “and I said it’s not going to make a difference with me.”“Lamont had more velocity, but my did a better job framing the pitch,” Dutcher said. “I hit the strike zone and Lamont was a little wide.
It wasn’t their first trip to Petco Park. They were guests of the Padres for the playoff clincher against the Dodgers last fall.
