For 18 holes, Tom Kim, the 22 year old phenom, and Scottie Scheffler, the number one player in the world, went toe to toe. Kim had a one shot lead when the round began. Scheffler had a one shot lead going to the 18th hole.

CROMWELL, CT - For 18 holes, Tom Kim , the 22-year-old phenom, and Scottie Scheffler , the number one player in the world, went toe to toe.But Kim made a 10 foot birdie putt on 18 to send the tournament to a playoff.
On the first playoff hole, Kim hit his second shot into the right side bunker and left a 30 footer for his par.The two played together as a threesome with Akshay Bhatia, the last group to tee off at 11:15 A.M. to try and beat any possible weather. Scheffler caught Kim with a birdie on the seventh hole, then took a one stroke lead when Kim bogeyed the eighth hole.
The two were tied again after Kim birdied hole ten. Scheffler made three straight birdies on 13, 14 and 15, pulling a shot ahead when Kim birdied two of the holes. The final hole was interrupted when five protesters broke from the crowd and rushed the 18th green, dispersing some sort of powder.The win is Scheffler’s 6th this season.
