As sunset neared bringing the threat for refreezing, there were signs Thursday’s warmer temps and rain had not yet fully flushed away the ice. "Where students are coming out of their homes and walking to school on sidewalks and things like that, where the busses are and all across our communities, not just the main thoroughfares. And those are simply not at the point where we feel that it's a safe travel and safe experience to be walking," Cavazos said.
So while students have had a chance to have fun this week, whether it’s Friday or next week, educators are gearing up for a return to normal.
