The Supreme Court announced on Wednesday that it has allowed Rappler CEO Maria Ressa to travel abroad from March 13 to April 1, 2023.

According to the Court's First Division, Ressa will travel to Canada, France, South Korea, and the United States for some "speaking engagements."The SC said Ressa must refrain from discussing her case in public and other related matters.Ressa must also notify the SC in writing of her return to the Philippines within five days of her arrival.of Ressa and former Rappler researcher Reynaldo Santos. Santos had said they would appeal before the SC.

The case was in connection with the 2012 article Rappler published that linked businessman Wilfredo Keng to human trafficking and drug smuggling, citing an intelligence report. —
