“We don’t have a Social Security crisis, but we do have a retirement income crisis,” said Social Security Works in response to the Board of Trustees report. “With prices rising, seniors and people with disabilities are struggling to afford food and medicine. According to the Board of Trustees report, Social Security is currently fully funded until 2035 and — even without Congressional action to expand the program — would be able to pay 90% of benefits for the next 25 years.
