Tickets for the lunch and ceremony to be held onboard the Battleship USS Iowa are $100 and available at Eventbrite and sales close at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7.
Tickets are available for the return on Monday, Oct. 9, of the LA Sportswalk ceremony feting six honorees, including those who were instrumental in launching the popular San Pedro event in the 1970s.Rancho Palos Verdes resident John Papadakis recently completed his third album and will perform the songs at the Catalina Jazz Club in Hollywood on Sept. 29, 2022.
There will be limited viewing space for those who wish to watch the ceremony but cannot join the lunch on the fantail of the historic World War II ship berthed near 250 S. Harbor Blvd., San Pedro. The first Sportswalk was held on Oct. 5, 1978, when downtown San Pedro was launching a new revitalization effort.
