For the first time in 40 years, the San San Marcos High School football team is back-to-back league champion

The San Marcos defense held Rancho Bernardo to 83 yards passing and 117 rushing yards. The Knights sacked RB quarterback Gaige Weddle five times, three coming from Ty Sagaser. Rancho Bernardo took advantage of a short San Marcos punt, driving 66 yards on seven plays with Weddle hitting Brady Strachan with an 18-yard scoring pass on a slant after the Broncos were called for three straight false-start penalties.
