SAN JOSE, Calif. — The mayor of San Jose has proposed requiring gun owners in the nation's 10th largest city to carry liability insurance to cover taxpayer costs associated with firearm violence.
"With this measure, we won't suddenly end gun violence," Liccardo said."But we're going to stop paying for it." Gun rights groups are vowing to take San Jose to court if the City Council approves the measures."We think it's really misguided," said George Lee, an attorney representing firearm groups like the Firearms Policy Coalition.
