SAN JOSE – A 40-year-old San Jose man has been arrested on suspicion of taking a woman’s car and American bulldog, as well as shooting at her, according to police.
The incident was reported Aug. 3 at an undisclosed location in San Jose. In a news release, San Jose police Sgt. Christian Camarillo said the victim recovered her car, but the man demanded an undisclosed amount of cash for the safe return of her dog. The man then confronted the woman while she was in her car and tried to shoot her, Camarillo said. The bullet missed the woman and shattered the rear window of the car. According to Camarillo, the man then slashed two of the woman’s tires and fled.
Detectives investigated the incident and ultimately obtained an arrest warrant charging the man with grand theft, robbery, felon in possession of a firearm and assault with a deadly weapon, Camarillo said. On Wednesday, officers found and arrested the man in San Jose. According to Camarillo, the man was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on the warrant, as well as other outstanding warrants, including one for a previous domestic violence incident.Related Articles
