San Diego Workforce Partnership selects longtime San Diegan as interim CEO [Breaking]

San Diego Workforce Partnership on Thursday announced that Tony Young, who has two decades of local public service and nonprofit leadership, has been selected to serve as interim CEO.

The nonprofit, which helps San Diegans get jobs through training programs and community resources, receives most of its revenue — about $29 million during fiscal year 2022 — from local, state and federal funds as well as from private sector grants. Early in his career, Young worked for the county of San Diego and as an educator for San Diego Unified School District. He worked for the city of San Diego for 11 years, starting as chief of staff for Councilmember Charles Lewis III.
