The seasonal monsoon will disappear, reducing relative humidity
The heat that has baked inland San Diego County for the past several days will ease on Wednesday, giving way to dry, clear, seasonal weather that will last through the Fourth of July weekend, said the National Weather Service.
After Wednesday, “the monsoon shuts off and we will effectively not have any more showers or thunderstorms in the mountains through the holiday weekend,” Mark Moede, a weather service forecaster, said in statement. “The outlook for precipitation? Essentially, it’s zero. We’re not going to have any worries of any clouds blocking fireworks in the mountains or deserts. Perhaps the only thing to look at would be the start of a marine layer beginning to develop in the coastal zones for fireworks.”
The weather service estimates that San Diego will hit 72 degrees on July 4 while El Cajon gets to 81, Escondido gets to 82, and Julian tops out at 75. Mount Laguna will be 77 and Oceanside will be 74. The surf is expected to be in the 1-foot to 3-foot range for most of the county into the holiday weekend. The ocean temperature has reached 70 degrees from Oceanside to Imperial Beach.
