Construction at San Diego airport's Terminal 1 will impact travelers this summer, with some of the changes starting next weekend.
Buckle up for a busy travel season this summer and prepare for construction to impact your trip to San Diego International Airport.
Any cars already parked in the Terminal 1 lot will have until June 14 to vacate the parking spot. Any cars not moved out of the lot will be towed on June 15 as crews move in for construction, said Sabrina LoPiccolo spokeswoman for San Diego International Airport. Currently, Terminal 1 is operating with 500 parking spots after reducing its capacity earlier this year to accommodate construction. The Terminal 2 parking plaza has about 3,000 parking spaces, however, parking will be tight due to construction and the busy travel season, said LoPiccolo.the airport’s website
If you opt not to park at the airport, there are also Aladdin Airport Parking, San Diego Airport Parking Co., WallyPark Airport Parking and other lots nearby. Alternative options for getting to the airport include using the, which transports people between the Old Town Transit Center and the airport.
