A comedy show will raise funds for The Purple Project
Three of San Diego’s comedy clubs are coming together for the first time to garner some laughs — and some funds — for The Purple Project, a nonprofit that provides support to victims of domestic violence.
“Usually these comedy shows are little islands on their own, but this is the first time that we’ve all gotten together to produce one epic lineup,” said Daniel Delgado, who produces Riff City Comedy with his partner, Beau Hufford. Funds from the show will go toward supporting local shelters such as Becky’s House Shelter, a short-term residential program for women, men and children in need of immediate protection, located downtown, along with other Purple Project programs.“I think comedy does bring people together, and if we can use comedy to bring awareness to domestic violence, I think that that’s going to be a great thing,” said Kash Habib, producer of Kash Komedy and the comedy show’s host.
