SAN ANTONIO — A San Antonio woman placed third in a gelato making competition Thursday, earning a spot to compete in an international gelato festival. Posada will continue on in the competition at the North America Semifinals of Gelato Festival World Masters which is scheduled for sometime later in 2024.
Posada represented Casa Morgana Gelatos - a local gelato shop that showcases genuine artisan Italian gelato with unique and natural flavors. The Gelato Festival started in France in 2010 and was inspired by the creation of the first gelato recipe by Bernardo Buontalenti in 1559. The event has grown and expanded its borders to Europe, the United States and the world. The first World Championship of Gelato Festival World Masters took place in 2021.
