The Bexar County, Texas, institution is requiring I.D. for credit card purchases, saying it's been losing thousands a month as customers cancel charges.
A longtime San Antonio pizzeria has a new policy in place, claiming customer credit card cancellations are costing the restaurant thousands. Big Lou's Pizza now requires all customers paying with credit card to show a matching I.D., the eatery announced in a March 2 social media post. 'It is unfortunate we have to go this route,' said the restaurant at 2048 S. WW White Road, 'but it is the reality of trying to do business these days.
There is an ATM at the restaurant for those who can't provide an I.D., but Big Lou's Pizzeria said that some patrons have already refused to use it. 'All we’re trying to do is ensure these scammers are not using stolen credit cards. We’re obviously not claiming everyone to be a scammer,' the pizza spot said on social media.
