In the aftermath of Saturday’s failed assassination attempt against Donald Trump , many people were left wondering if security measures and protocols would be changed for political events in San Antonio .
“People right now have really, I’m not going to say doubled down but they’re very excited about getting behind him and really making sure that he’s elected to be our president,” said Kris Coons, Chairwoman of the Republican Party of Bexar County. “In regards to violence, there should be no violence. In regards to the elections, I believe everyone's vote should be the deciding factor, right? So we take all our sentiments and feelings, and we take all that to the ballot box,” said Monica Ramirez Alcantara, Chairwoman of the Bexar County Democratic Party.
“We don't look to canceling any events in the future, but we definitely will be ensuring that all security measures are well in place. We will be having conversations with law enforcement and then we just keep on moving forward,” said Ramirez Alcantara.
