The crash occurred on Oct. 21 when a Mercedes Sprinter van with a trailer was pulled over on the right shoulder of eastbound Interstate 80 near milepost 55 in Aragonite, Utah. Vechirko, who was outside the vehicle inspecting his tires, was hit by a Hyundai Elantra, causing fatal injuries. Officials said that he was the son of a passenger in the same vehicle.
