Ryan Pepiot gets first MLB win as Dodgers hold off Rockies
and Mookie Betts provided enough offense for the Dodgers to begin this 11-game homestand with five wins in six games.
Pepiot, 24, was called up from triple-A for the spot start to give the entire rotation an extra day of rest. A deserving reward for a rotation that has been stellar. Bickford was touched for a solo home run by Kris Bryant to lead off the sixth inning in relief of Pepiot, but he recorded five outs before giving way to Phillips, who recorded four outs — three via strikeouts. It was Bryant’s first homer since signing a seven-year, $182 million contract with Colorado during the offseason.
