Netflix shelled out $300 million to sign an overall deal with Murphy—and the investment seems to be paying off
“look at Hollywood and the sex industry, and how absolutely everything has changed and nothing has changed.” And although Murphy admits he has not made moves to bring this idea to life yet, he did divulge one other juicy scripted pitch: “and I are working on a piece about Marlene Dietrich in Vegas in the early ’60s,” he toldreports Murphy has set—about a closeted lesbian couple who came out in their golden years—and a “big, flashy 10-part series” about Andy Warhol.
The Warhol series, Murphy toldwill explore “who’s the real person who made all this stuff that changed all of our lives?” PerMurphy is also planning a docuseries about the world’s most stylish people. All of this, in addition to the projects Murphy still has remaining at both Fox and FX, sounds downright dizzying—but if there’s one man in Hollywood who has become synonymous with the word “multitasking,” it’s this guy. As Murphy himself told“I say I can’t keep going at this pace.
