DeSantis said on Thursday that it’s Disney, not him, playing politics. “I don’t think the suit has merit, I think it’s political,” he said during a press conference in Israel, part of the governor’s current world tour in anticipation of his 2024 presidential campaign. DeSantis Communications Director Taryn Fenske said in a statement on Wednesday that the lawsuit was part of Disney’s “hope to undermine the will of the Florida voters and operate outside the bounds of the law,” citing the Reedy Creek Improvement District created for Disney World.
