Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez honored the late Senate Secretary and Philippine Constitution Association Secretary General, Dr. Hezel Gacutan, for his extraordinary service during a necrological service Wednesday at Manila Memorial Park.

Romualdez, who also presides over Philconsa, praised Gacutan as “a truly remarkable man,” an outstanding civil servant, and a key figure in Philippine politics. Gacutan’s tenure as Senate Secretary extended through the terms of Senate Presidents Neptali A. Gonzales, Marcelo B. Fernand, and Blas F. Ople.“He served during a time of immense change, a period when our nation grappled with critical issues of political and economic development.

In his role as Philconsa Secretary General, Gacutan was devoted to advocating democratic principles and enhancing constitutional understanding, according to Romualdez.
