Rockets trade veteran Eric Gordon to Clippers, per source
The last Rockets tie to their seasons as a championship contender has moved on.
The Rockets will receive a pick swap in the deal, allowing them to exchange the Milwaukee Bucks’ pick they have in this season’s draft for the Clippers’ pick. That would move the Rockets up 10 spots to 18th in the draft if the standings stay unchanged. Gordon played seven of his 15 NBA seasons with the Rockets, averaging 15.7 points on 36 percent 3-point shooting. He was the NBA Sixth Man of the Year in 2016-17, the season in which he won the NBA All-Star 3-point contest, and was a key to their seasons chasing a championship before the rebuild began with the trade of James Harden during the 2020-21 season.
