CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has announced a mix of virtual and in-person festivities on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
On Monday, Jan. 17, the museum will offer free museum admission to the general public. This year, free tickets must be reserved in advance at the Rock Hall’s website and all attendees and staff will be required to wear face masks due to the pandemic, according to a press release. Attendees can watch King’s famous “I Have A Dream” speech in the museum’s Forest City Theater, take a self-guided tour about music and culture in the Civil Rights movement and check out the museum’s social justice-themed exhibit “It’s Been Said All Along: Voices of Rage, Hope & Empowerment,” according to a press release. A blood drive will take place in the museum from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.-- is scheduled to perform at the PNC Stage.
On the virtual front, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has a few features in store for the day, too. According to a press release, you can tune in at the Rock Hall’s YouTube channel and website to watch interviews with Jennifer Hudson and Robert Randolph, archival footage of artists, exclusive induction footage and artifact spotlights on artists like Janelle Monae, Sam Cooke, Mahalia Jackson, Jimi Hendrix and James Brown.
