Palma's remarks, captured in a video, urged former Trump voters in New York to vote for Kennedy and potentially send the election to the House, where lawmakers would choose between Trump and Kennedy. Kennedy's campaign manager clarified that the video was recorded at a non-campaign event and Palma was not speaking on behalf of the campaign.

Rita Palma, who appeared to be speaking to New York voters in a video viewed by The Washington Post, pitched former Trump voters in the blue state to vote for Kennedy and reduce the electoral votes President Biden would get in a typically Democratic stronghold.
Palma also encouraged the audience to go canvas for Trump in Pennsylvania, the neighboring battleground state. Amaryllis Fox Kennedy, Kennedy’s campaign manager and daughter-in-law, said in a statement that the video was taken at a non-campaign event and Palma was not speaking on behalf of the campaign.
