Ashley was a standout on both sides of the ball for Marietta High School but will be a “Money” linebacker at the next level with the Yellow Jackets.“Going into Thanksgiving, I really wasn’t talking to any big schools except for one, but that school delayed me until the last week of January for an official visit,” Ashley said. “After Thanksgiving week, I was sending film out to see what’s what and who would hit me back.
“I saw coach Semore and coach Thacker on my first day there. Coach Thacker was telling me that I am an offer take guy, and that he wanted me there. After that, they gave me an official over the weekend. “I met their head coach, coach Key. He was talking about his offer from Georgia Tech, it was the same way. He never thought of them until they called him for his first offer.”“It was a relieving and incredible moment,” Ashley stated. “I almost teared up while he gave me the official offer. About 10-15 minutes later I told him I was committed.”“At first my mom started crying with joy, my dad and my brother were happy to see me get the offer,” Ashley said.
As for Ashley’s feelings on committing to Tech, “It feels great. I was at a loss for words. I couldn’t even say anything, I was lost in the moment.”
