League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics are now officially brought to us by Riot! The migration from Garena to Riot servers in the SEA began as of the morning of January 6th, 2023.

Note that high latency issues and the incomplete Friends List, among other things, are a result of the ongoing migration. Esports Inquirer reached out to Riot Games for more information. If you haven’t migrated yet, don’t panic. You still have a chance to do so by visitingeverything should carry over from your Garena League/TFT account over to your Riot account. The only things that will reset are your League Season 12 Rank and LP, Missions, and Battle Pass progress.

As both games are now directly accessible via the Riot Launcher, League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics are now playable on MacOS natively. A Welcome Event is scheduled on January 13th, where players can earn permanent skin shards, legendary eggs, and Ultimate skins. There will also be an opportunity to unlock all champions released from 2009 until 2021 by completing in-game missions.

Managing Director for Riot Games in APAC, Alex Kraynov, talked about Riot’s relaunch of the games in the region. “Riot’s goal with this migration is to provide Southeast Asian players with the best experience and the same level of in-game events and content as we do for players in other Riot regions. League of Legends’ players will also enjoy deeper content integration within the Riot ecosystem, and exciting in-game and cross-franchise campaigns.
