Oakland A’s pitchers struggle as Toronto Blue Jays offense comes alive with two home runs
TORONTO — Opener Shintaro Fujinami didn’t last a full inning as he gave up two earned runs in the bottom of the first in what would become a 7-3 A’s loss to the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday at Rogers Centre.
Oakland changed up its pitching plans and used right-hander Fujinami as an opener ahead of left-hander Hogan Harris. José Berríos 8-5) pitched six innings to win for the third time in four starts for Toronto. He allowed three runs and six hits, walked two, and struck out eight, one shy of his season high.
