Stopping the threat inside Robb Elementary is what border patrol agents did when they arrived at the school according to Retired Border Patrol Agent in Charge, John Morris. Morris was in charge of establishing the Border Patrol Tactical Unit, or BORTAC, in Del Rio almost 13 years ago. “As border patrol agents, we receive thousands of hours of training just to do our normal border patrol job,” Morris said. “Then, if you're a member of the Border Patrol Tactical unit or the Border Patrol Search Trauma and Rescue team, you have additional thousands of hours in training in order to address the critical instance that we respond to."
