Police must direct traffic before the 1 p.m. court session starts. .The Alabama Senate passed a bill today to put a limit on the money cities and towns can retain from traffic ticket fines, legislation that comes after reports of abuses by police in Brookside.
Any amount collected in excess of the 10 percent threshold would go in equal portions to the Crime Victims Compensation Fund and the Fair Trial Tax Fund.
