The hearing will start at 8 p.m. Thursday, marking an unprecedented prime-time meeting that will be televised on most major news outlets.
As a House panel holds its first hearing outlining what took place during the Jan. 6, 2021 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, Republicans are pointing the finger at Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
"If they really believed in getting to the truth, they would have kept Jim Banks and Jim Jordan on the committee to ask those questions and get the truth,” said Rep. Steve Scalise, the House minority whip. The National Guard arrived at the Capitol hours after the insurrection started. Guard members stayed at the complex for several months.
