Republican candidates for Illinois governor Richard Irvin, mayor of Aurora, IL, and Jesse Sullivan blasted Gov. JB Pritzker on crime in campaign ads.

AURORA, Ill. -- A pair of Republican candidates for Illinois governor launched their first television ads Tuesday, going on the attack against Gov. JB Pritzker.

"We will not put up with this BS and this foolishness," Irvin said in a news clip from a press conference at the time. "There's a lot of polling out there that shows crime is the number one issue in the state, both from among republicans and democrats, so they're getting on a bread and butter issue that really matters to voters," said Laura Washington, an ABC7 political analyst.
