Escambia County Public Information and Education Officer Davis Wood told the News Journal that Escambia County Fire Rescue, Pensacola Beach Lifeguards and EMS responded to Portofino Drive on Pensacola Beach Wednesday morning at 11:52 a.m.

"Upon arrival, one swimmer appeared to be in distress," Wood wrote in an email."The swimmer that was rescued by the lifeguards and ECFR had provided assistance to four swimmers that were in distress." Wood said two of the adult swimmers were taken to a local hospital and one required a helicopter transport. Due to patient privacy regulations, Wood is unable to confirm the identity of those transported to the hospital., Hillis played as a fullback at Arkansas from 2004 to ’07, amassing 2,157 total yards and scoring 23 touchdowns with the Razorbacks. His performance led the Broncos to select him in the seventh round of the ’08 NFL draft.
