The Republican's pledge followed Fauci's Monday testimony before the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic.
House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer , R-Ky., vowed late Monday to try to find evidence Dr. Anthony Fauci attempted to cover up his actions during the COVID-19 pandemic.following Dr. Fauci ’s testimony to the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, a division of the oversight panel, that the former infectious diseases official acted illegally while helping direct the nation's response to the pandemic.
Rep. Brad Wenstrup, R-Ohio, accused Dr. Fauci during Monday's hearing of likely trying to break the law by evading public record requests protected by the Freedom of Information Act . Rep. Wenstrup pointed to emails between Dr. Fauci and his former senior advisor, David Morens, that discussed exercising caution with certain communications.
Morens also said he knew how to “make emails disappear” if his communications were requested under FOIA, according to the subcommittee.
