“While most of this product is being built in the suburbs, we’re focusing on assembling close-in, infill sites close to major employment centers,” Anderson said. “Our first two such projects will start lease-up this summer, and we’re already seeing a high level of leasing interest.
Larkspur’s Cedars neighborhood townhomes will average 1,500 square feet and will start construction in September. Dallas’ Architecture Demarest is designing the project. Build-to-rent houses and townhomes are a growing sector of Dallas-Fort Worth’s homebuilding market. In 2022, homebuilders started more than 4,200 rental homes in North Texas, according to Dallas-based Residential Strategies.
