Dec. 29 have been found, according to the companies that employed the workers and owned the helicopter as well as the oil platform it was traveling from.

The helicopter went down about 10 miles off the shore of Southwest Pass, Louisiana, around 8:30 a.m. Thursday after leaving an oil and gas platform, according to Petty Officer Jose Hernandez, a spokesman for the Coast Guard’s 8th District headquartered in New Orleans. He said weather did not appear to be a factor in the crash.

On Tuesday, the three private companies involved confirmed the remains had been found. The U.S. Coast Guard had searched for those aboard the helicopter on Thursday, but said it had toWalter Oil and Gas owns the platform in the Gulf of Mexico. Rotorcraft Leasing Co. employed the pilot and owned the helicopter. Island Operating, which provides labor to the oil and gas industry, employed the three platform workers killed in the crash.

In a statement, the companies said they would continue to cooperate with investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board and the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement.
