The drug testing took place immediately upon signing by the two police generals and 15 police colonels of their courtesy resignation supporting the appeal made by Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Atty. Benhur Abalos Jr. and Philippine National Police Chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr on all PNP full colonels and generals to submit their courtesy resignation as part of the government’s efforts to rid the organization of officers involved in the illegal drug trade.

PRO 1 Regional Director BGen. John C. Chua led the whole command in signing his courtesy resignation, followed by BGen. Carlito M. Gace, the deputy regional director for administration and all other colonels.Chua proudly said that all drug tests yielded negative results for the use of dangerous drugs.
