The low pressure area and northeast monsoon may continue to bring light to heavy rains over parts of the country in the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said on Tuesday, Jan. 10.
PAGASA said the LPA, which was last spotted 705 kilometers east of Davao City, may bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Visayas, Mindanao, Albay, Catanduanes, Sorsogon, and Masbate. It added that the northeast monsoon, locally called “amihan,” may also cause cloudy and rainy weather in Cagayan Valley, Quezon, Aurora, Marinduque, and the rest of Bicol Region.
PAGASA warned those in areas affected by the LPA and amihan to stay vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to heavy rains. Meanwhile, the rest of Luzon, including Metro Manila, may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light amihan rains.
