Temperatures are expected to cool down Friday into the weekend.

“It’s still going to feel mild out there, but we’re definitely not anticipating the 90 degree temperatures reaching all the way to the coast we saw yesterday,” said forecaster Roger Gass.

“We’re concerned things are drying out quicker than they would during a normal year,” Gass said. “It’s believed we have enough fuel moisture content right now to not be as concerned for widespread wildfire threat, but it’s going to be windy and with that, it’s going to be very dry out as well. By all means, a fire can start and spread if one were to be sparked.”

“It’s overall very light,” Gass said. “We don’t typically get significant rainfall when we head into April and this system, all and all, will be weak but we’ll take whatever rain we can get at this point.”
