Senator Raffy Tulfo is seeking a Senate investigation on “arrogant and snobbish” government employees as he eyes stricter measures and penalties against government workers who will treat citizens poorly.
In filing proposed Senate Resolution 554, Tulfo cited the "viral" case of Cham Tanteras who was asked by an immigration officer to show her yearbook before being allowed to fly abroad. Tanteras missed her flight because of theTulfo said there have also been complaints against officers and employees in other government offices and all of which are “relating to the arrogant, harassing, and condescending behavior.
In a separate statement, Tulfo said he is set to file the “Anti-Taray” bill which will impose tougher penalties on government workers guilty of misconduct, harassment, and human rights violations. “Panahon na upang maparusahan ang mga kawani ng gobyerno na nambabastos, namamahiya, naninigaw, at kumakawawa sa mga kababayan natin na pumupunta sa kanilang tanggapan para makipagtransaksyon. Ang empleyado ng gobyerno dapat ay pasensyoso at nagseserbisyo, hindi nagsusuplado,” he said.
