The LTFRB banned provincial buses from EDSA back in 2019 to help ease worsening traffic on the major thoroughfare. Metropolitan Manila Development Authority“This is to allow the provincial buses to accommodate the expected influx of passengers going to the provinces for the holiday season and ensure the convenience and comfort of the commuters,” the MMDA said in an advisory.
Provincial buses have been banned on Edsa since 2019 as ordered by the Land Transportation Franchising Regulatory Board.
