MOSCOW - Protesters demanding the opposition be allowed to run in local elections in Moscow this year briefly brought traffic to a halt on the city’s garden ring road on Saturday, one of the Russian capital’s main arteries, Reuters witnesses said. Protesters obstructed the road after Russian police arrested more than 600 people, including prominent activists.
The incident happened about 2.5 km from the Kremlin after protesters bypassed a police car that had tried to block their path.Reporting by Reuters reporters; Writing by Andrew Osborn; Editing by Edmund Blair
