National Blue Ribbon award to School District 214′s Prospect High School called a ‘prestigious honor’ by superintendentProspect High School, in Arlington Heights-based Township High School District 214, is one of 20 schools in Illinois to be recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School this year by the federal government.
Prospect is among the 353 schools nationwide to be honored with this education award. The school will be honored, along with all of the other winners this year, by the U.S. Department of Education Nov. 16 and Nov. 17 in Washington, D.C.Prospect, located in the village of Mount Prospect, is one of six high schools in SD214. The school enrolls about 2,200 students.
The National Blue Ribbon designation is based on a school’s overall academic performance or progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups on assessments, U.S. Department of Education officials explained in a news release.
