TACOMA, Wash. — The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department has released the procession route for fallen Deputy Dom Calata’s celebration of life on Friday.

He was shot last Tuesday near Spanaway during a SWAT operation to serve an assault warrant on Jeremy Dayton.A second deputy, Sergeant Rich Scaniffe, was also shot and was in critical condition. He continues to recover after being released from the hospital. The 35-year-old married father patrolled in Edgewood, where the community covered his police SUV with flowers and condolence cards.It will begin at the Washington State Fairgrounds in Puyallup at 10:30 a.m. and end at the Church for All Nations in Tacoma at about 12:30 p.m.Fairview Drive becomes Ninth Street SouthwestArrive at 111 112th Street East, the Church for All Nations, where his memorial will be held at 1 p.m.

On Friday, 112th Street East will be closed from Seventh Avenue South to Pacific Avenue South from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.Family, friends and first responders will have priority for seating. The members of the public are encouraged to attend at the satellite location: Champions Centre, 1819 E 72nd St. in Tacoma.
