Two days after the death of Queen Elizabeth II, her grandson Prince William has released his first public statement mourning her loss.
in his first public message since his grandmother's passing on Thursday, Sept. 8 at the age of 96.
"On Thursday, the world lost an extraordinary leader, whose commitment to the country, the Realms and the Commonwealth was absolute. So much will be said in the days ahead about the meaning of her historic reign," he said in a statement shared with TODAY."I, however, have lost a grandmother. "I knew this day would come, but it will be some time before the reality of life without Grannie will truly feel real," the statement continued.
