NEW ZEALAND’s top government official recently affirmed his country’s commitment to enhance bilateral and economic ties with the Philippines.

Luxon was in Manila as part of his inaugural international mission to Southeast Asia, which included stops in Singapore and Thailand. The business delegation accompanying the mission comprised pioneering companies spanning various sectors, each offering cutting-edge innovations, premium products and services which present abundant opportunities for collaboration within the region.
The Philippines currently has seven geothermal fields supplying about 12 percent of local energy requirements, with a long-term plan to nearly double capacity by 2040. New Zealand is also pursuing further partnerships to develop its hydrogen, direct use, and geothermal capabilities to mitigate the carbon footprint of its energy supply.
