Prime Energy Resources Development B.V., a member of the service contract 38 consortium that operates the Malampaya gas field, resumed the delivery of gas to power plants on Monday.The Department of Energy welcomed the successful completion of the maintenance works on the Malampaya platform, pipelines and entire system. While major regular maintenance works have been carried out over the last two decades, this is the first time it was done by an all-Filipino owned consortium.

Prior to the commencement of the work scope, the DOE together with Prime Energy, conducted numerous engagements with the stakeholder communities, local government units and other government agencies particularly in the vicinity of the Onshore Gas Plant in Batangas. This was done to ensure awareness during the course of the works, particularly during flaring activities.

Prime Infra President and CEO Guillaume Lucci said the consortium remains committed to ensuring gas supply from the depleting Malampaya gas field.
