Landmark bill protecting same-sex and interracial marriages signed into law by President Biden

Between 2,000 to 3,000 lawmakers and advocates attended the signing ceremony on the South Lawn on Tuesday, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer. In remarks ahead of the ceremony, Lauper, who has advocated for LGBT rights, thanked the president and those who helped get the bill passed.
